Egypt’s banking sector performance on EGX at Tuesday's closing session

The banking sector ends EGX trading session on Tuesday 14 January 2025 with an increase in the market cap by 0.6% to record EGP 460.177 bn compared to EGP 457.570 bn at yesterday's session.

The market cap of the banking sector reached 22.30% of the total EGX market cap, which is considered the highest percentage among the sectors listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange.

The turnover on banking sector shares amounted to 245.519 mn which represents 6.55% of the total trading volume today after 5.806 million shares were exchanged capturing  0.55% of the total trading volume.

 The indexes of the Egyptian Exchange ended Today’s trading session with decrease and turnover amounted EGP 58.2 mn on shares.

 The main index of the Egyptian Stock Exchange “EGX30” decrease by 1.44% to reach 29.097 points EGX70 increases by 0.19% to record 8.028 points, and the broader index “EGX100” rose by   0.22% to record 11.064 points.
