Egypt’s banking sector performance on EGX at Tuesday's closing session

The banking sector ends EGX trading session on Tuesday 21 January 2025 with an increase in the market cap by 0.7% to record EGP 464.344 bn compared to EGP 461.297 bn at yesterday's session.

The market cap of the banking sector reached  21.56% of the total EGX market cap, which is considered the highest percentage among the sectors listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange.

 The turnover on banking sector shares amounted to  166.700 mn which represents 3.96% of the total trading volume today after 5.644 million shares were exchanged capturing  0.22% of the total trading volume.

 The indexes of the Egyptian Exchange ended Today’s trading session with increases  and turnover amounted EGP 58.2 mn on shares.

 The main index of the Egyptian Stock Exchange “EGX30” increases by 0.70% to reach 29.826 points EGX70 increases by 1.30% to record 8.498 points, and the broader index “EGX100” rose by   1.11% to record 11.622 points.
