EGP index losses 0.065 points over a week recording 75.453 on Thursday
The Egyptian pound index declined 0.065 points against the major currencies over the week where it fell to 75.453 points, compared to 75.518 points a week earlier.
The Egyptian pound index declines against 5 main currencies among a basket of seven major currencies that measures the performance of the pound. It fell against the Saudi Dollar, US dollar the Chinese yuan, the Euro and the UAE Dirham and rose against Pound Sterling and the Japanese Yen.
The average selling rate of the US dollar in Egypt rose from EGP24.74 to EGP 24.76 in the week's trading, while the average Buying price rose from EGP 24.67 to EGP 24.68
The average selling rate of the euro in Egypt rose from EGP 26.29 to EGP 26.35 in today's trading, while the average buying rate rose from EGP 26.20 to EGP 26.26.
The average rate of the Saudi riyal in Egypt rose from EGP 6.58 at the end of last week's trading to EGP 6.59 on Thursday, while the buying price rose from EGP 6.55 to EGP 6.56 at the end of today's trading.
The average selling rate of the UAE dirham in Egypt rose from 6.73 pounds to 6.74 pounds at the end of the day's trading, while buying price increased from 6.71 pounds to 6.72 pounds.
The average rate of the Chinese yuan in Egypt rose from EGP 3.54 pounds to EGP 3.55, while the buying rate increased from EGP 3.53 to EGP 3.54.
The average rate of the pound sterling in Egypt decreased from EGP 29.80 to EGP 29.78 in today's dealings, while the average buying price increased from EGP 29.70 to EGP 29.68.
