EGBANK, Al Baraka and saib top the fastest growing banks in personal loans during 2024

First Bank’s list of the fastest growing banks in personal loans during 2024 revealed that the Egyptian Gulf Bank «EGBANK» topped the list, as its portfolio jumped by about 69.42% over the past year, reaching 13.041 billion pounds by the end of 2024, compared to 7.698 billion pounds by the end of 2023.

The «First Bank» list monitored the size of the personal loan portfolios of 22 banks operating in the Egyptian banking sector, for which financial data were available during the period under analysis, and revealed that all banks under analysis achieved positive growth rates, with the exception of one bank that recorded a noticeable decline during the year 2024.

Returning to the list, Al Baraka Bank took second place, as its personal finance portfolio increased by about 65.84% over the past year, recording 12.176 billion pounds by the end of 2024, compared to 7.342 billion pounds by the end of 2023.

Arab International Banking Company Bank «saib» came in third place with a growth rate of 63.61% last year, as the volume of its personal loans jumped to 16.774 billion pounds at the end of 2024, compared to 10.252 billion pounds at the end of 2023.

Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank – Egypt «ADIB» dominated fourth place, after its personal finance portfolio increased by about 52.55% during 2024, reaching 25.770 billion pounds at the end of last year, compared to 16.893 billion pounds at the end of 2023.

Suez Canal Bank ranked fifth, as the volume of its personal loans increased by about 48.07% over the past year, reaching 5.319 billion pounds at the end of 2024, compared to 3.592 billion pounds at the end of 2023.

Kuwait Finance House – Egypt ranked sixth with a growth rate of 43.60% over the past year, thanks to an increase in its personal financing to 4.254 billion pounds by the end of 2024, compared to 2.962 billion pounds by the end of 2023.

The Egyptian Export Development Bank «EBank» came in seventh place, as its portfolio of personal loans increased by about 42.87% during 2024, reaching 9.047 billion pounds by the end of last year, compared to 6.332 billion pounds by the end of 2023.

Al Ahli Bank of Kuwait – Egypt «ABK – Egypt» seized eighth place with a growth rate of 36.73% over the past year, after the volume of its personal loans jumped to 22.026 billion pounds at the end of 2024, compared to 16.109 billion pounds at the end of 2023.

Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank – Egypt «ADCB» took ninth place with a growth rate of 33.40% during 2024, thanks to an increase in its portfolio of personal loans to 10.398 billion pounds by the end of 2024, compared to 7.795 billion pounds by the end of 2023.

As for tenth place, it went to BANK NXT«, where the volume of its personal loans jumped by about 31.25% over the past year, reaching 8.062 billion pounds at the end of 2024, compared to 6.142 billion pounds at the end of 2023.

It is worth noting that all values and growth rates mentioned in the above analysis are according to the independent financial statements announced for each bank by the end of 2024.
