Granting loans at the front of EBank's investment trends by the end of March 2025

The separate financial statements of the Egyptian Export Development Bank «Ebank», ending last March 31, revealed an increase in the size of the bank’s asset portfolio with a growth rate of 1.3% and an increase of EGP 2.36 bn during the first 3 months of 2025, to record EGP 184.23 bn by the end of March 2025, compared to EGP 181.87 bn by the end of 2024.
By monitoring the investment trends of «EBank» by the end of March 2025, the following becomes:
Ebank is working to pump and employ the largest percentage of its funds in granting loans and facilities to its customers, at a greater rate than other indicators, and below we monitor the relative weight of those indicators at the end of last March.
Customer loans and facilities
The bank's net loans and customer facilities witnessed a slight increase in the relative weight of the portfolio, thus occupying the largest percentage of the bank's assets with a relative weight of 39.80% at the end of March 2025, compared to a relative weight of 39.59% of the bank's assets at the end of 2027.
The bank’s net portfolio of customer loans and facilities amounted to about 73.32 billion pounds at the end of March 2025, compared to 72 billion at the end of 2024, rising at a growth rate of 2% and an increase of 1.33 billion pounds during the first quarter of this year.
Balances Due from banks
EBank balances Due from banks received the second largest relative weight out of the bank’s total asset portfolio, despite a decline in their percentage to 25.74%, with a value of 47.41 billion pounds, at the end of March 2025, compared to a relative weight of 29.35%, with a value of 53.37 billion, at the end of 2024.
Total financial investments
The relative weight of the total financial investment portfolio rose to obtain third place in terms of the bank’s investment orientation, at 24.27% of the bank’s total assets at the end of March 2025, compared to 23.40% of the total assets at the end of 2024.
The bank's total financial investment portfolio witnessed a growth rate of 5.1% and an increase of 2.15 billion pounds during the first quarter of this year, reaching 44.70 billion pounds by the end of March 2025, compared to 42.55 billion by the end of 2024.
Cash and balances Due from CBE
The relative weight of the "Cash and Balances due from CBE" portfolio rose, obtaining fourth place within the bank’s investment orientation with 5.55% of its total assets at the end of March 2025, compared to a relative weight of 3.35% of the bank’s total assets at the end of 2024.
The size of the "cash and balances due from CBE" portfolio jumped at a growth rate of 67.8% during the first quarter of this year, reaching 10.23 billion pounds at the end of last March, compared to 6.10 billion by the end of 2024, achieving an increase of 4.13 billion pounds.
Other assets
The relative weight of the size of the "other assets" portfolio recorded an increase, obtaining fifth place within the bank’s investment orientation, by 3.20%, recording its value at about 5.90 billion pounds of the bank’s total assets at the end of March 2025, compared to a relative weight of 2.25% and a portfolio size of 4.10 billion at the end of 2024.
Bank trends in the loan market Shedding light on the items that make up the total loan portfolio, we find that «Ebank» directs the largest percentage of its clients’ total loan portfolio to support institutions due to its high relative weight at the end of March 2025.
Corporate Loans
Corporate loans portfolio accounted for the largest percentage of the bank’s total customer loans and facilities portfolio, at a rate of 85.13% at the end of March 2025, compared to a relative weight of 85.42% of the total customer loans and facilities portfolio at the end of 2024.
The bank's total institutional loan portfolio increased at a growth rate of 1%, achieving an increase of 635 million pounds during the first 3 months of this year, to record 64.48 billion pounds by the end of March 2025, compared to 63.84 billion by the end of 2024.
Retail loans
The relative weight of the bank’s individual loan portfolio witnessed a slight increase, obtaining 14.87% of the bank’s total customer loans and facilities at the end of March 2025, compared to a relative weight of 14.58% of the bank’s total customer loans and facilities at the end of 2024.
The size of the individual loan portfolio increased at a growth rate of 3.4% and an increase of 367 million pounds during the first quarter of this year, reaching 11.26 billion pounds by the end of March 2025, compared to 10.90 billion by the end of 2025.
