Al Baraka Bank Tops Gulf Cooperation Council banks in Egypt in terms of net profit growth with a 72.8% increase during Q1 2025… Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank comes second with 66.3% growth National Bank of Kuwait – Egypt ranks third with 57.8% growth, while Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank and Emirates NBD – Egypt claim fourth and fifth positions with growth rates of 39.6% and 30.9% respectively
The First Bank ranking of Gulf Cooperation Council banks operating in the Egyptian banking sector, in terms of fastest net profit growth during the first quarter of 2025, revealed Al Baraka Bank – Egypt at the top of the list. The bank’s net profit soared by 72.8%, reaching EGP 958.95 mn during Q1 2025, compared to EGP 555.02 mn during the same period in 2024.
The review conducted by First Bank included the following banks: First Abu Dhabi Bank – Egypt, Emirates NBD – Egypt, Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank – Egypt, National Bank of Kuwait – Egypt, Kuwait Finance House – Egypt, Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank – Egypt, Al Ahli Bank of Kuwait – Egypt, Qatar National Bank – Egypt, Al Baraka Bank – Egypt, and Arab Banking Corporation – Egypt.
The list, which featured ten Gulf Cooperation Council banks operating in the Egyptian market, showed that seven of them recorded positive growth rates in net profits, while three banks posted noticeable declines during Q1 2025.
Returning to the ranking, Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank – Egypt secured second place, as its net profit grew by 66.3% during the first three months of this year, reaching EGP 1.51 bn, up from EGP 909.68 mn in Q1 2024.
National Bank of Kuwait – Egypt ranked third with a 57.8% increase in net profit, reaching EGP 2.02 bn during Q1 2025, compared to EGP 1.28 bn in the same quarter of 2024.
Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank – Egypt came in fourth after achieving a 39.6% rise in net profit during Q1 2025, recording EGP 2.94 bn, up from EGP 2.10 bn during the same period last year.
Emirates NBD – Egypt ranked fifth, with a 30.9% increase in net profit, reaching EGP 1.43 bn during the first three months of 2025, compared to EGP 1.09 bn in Q1 2024.
