Egypt’s banking sector performance on EGX at Thursdays closing session

The banking sector ended EGX trading session on Thursday 7 August 2025 with an increase in the market cap by 0.66% to record EGP 547.365 bn compared to EGP 543.770 bn at yesterday's session.
The market cap of the banking sector reached 22.78% of the total EGX market cap, which is considered the highest percentage among the sectors listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange.
The turnover on banking sector shares amounted to 346.409 mn which represents 7.33% of the total trading volume today after 7.51 million shares were exchanged capturing 0.49% of the total trading volume.
The indexes of the Egyptian Exchange ended Today’s trading session with an increase and turnover amounted EGP 258.8 mn on shares.
The main index of the Egyptian Stock Exchange “EGX30” increased by 0.93% to reach 35.907 points EGX70 increased by 0.71% to record 10.593 points, and the broader index “EGX100” increased by 0.74% to record 14.234 points.
