EGP index decreased against a basket of major currencies to 39.373 points at today's trading

The Egyptian Pound Index recorded a slight decline against major currencies by the end of Sunday’s trading session, October 12, 2025, falling to 39.373 points, compared to 39.648 points at the end of last Wednesday’s session.

The drop in the index came as the Egyptian pound weakened against the US dollar, euro, British pound, Japanese yen, Chinese yuan, UAE dirham, and Saudi riyal at the close of today’s trading.

The average selling price of the US dollar rose from EGP 47.60 to EGP 47.93, while the average buying price increased from EGP 47.50 to EGP 47.83 by the end of today’s session.

The average selling price of the euro climbed from EGP 55.35 to EGP 55.71, and the average buying price rose from EGP 55.23 to EGP 55.57.

Meanwhile, the average selling price of the British pound increased from EGP 63.81 to EGP 64.04, while the average buying price rose from EGP 63.65 to EGP 63.89 by the end of today’s trading.

The Japanese yen also saw an increase, with the average selling price rising from EGP 31.16 to EGP 31.71, and the average buying price moving up from EGP 31.10 to EGP 31.63.

Similarly, the Chinese yuan’s average selling price went up from EGP 6.68 to EGP 6.71, while the average buying price rose from EGP 6.67 to EGP 6.70 by the end of today’s session.

The average selling price of the UAE dirham increased from EGP 12.96 to EGP 13.05, while the average buying price rose from EGP 12.93 to EGP 13.02.

Finally, the average selling price of the Saudi riyal edged up from EGP 12.69 to EGP 12.78, and the average buying price rose from EGP 12.66 to EGP 12.75 by the end of today’s session.
