EGP index increased against a basket of major currencies to 39.599 points at today's trading

The Egyptian pound index recorded an increase against major currencies by the end of trading on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, as the index value rose to 39.599 points, compared to 39.564 points at the end of Sunday’s session.

The increase in the index came as the pound strengthened against the euro, British pound, and Chinese yuan, while it weakened against the US dollar and Japanese yen, and remained stable against both the Saudi riyal and the UAE dirham by the end of today’s session.

The average selling price of the euro declined from EGP 55.31 to EGP 55.19, while the average buying price decreased from EGP 55.19 to EGP 55.07.

The average selling price of the British pound dropped from EGP 63.70 to EGP 63.35, while the average buying price fell from EGP 63.56 to EGP 63.22 by the end of today’s trading.

The Chinese yuan also saw a slight decrease, with the average selling price edging down from EGP 6.69 to EGP 6.68, and the average buying price from EGP 6.68 to EGP 6.67.

Meanwhile, the US dollar rose marginally, with the average selling price increasing from EGP 47.75 to EGP 47.76, and the average buying price from EGP 47.65 to EGP 47.66.

The Japanese yen also recorded a slight increase, as the average selling price moved from EGP 31.40 to EGP 31.41, while the average buying price remained stable at EGP 31.33.

The Saudi riyal remained unchanged, with both the selling and buying prices stable at EGP 12.73 and EGP 12.70, respectively.

Similarly, the UAE dirham was steady, with the average selling price holding at EGP 13.00 and the average buying price at EGP 12.97 by the end of today’s trading session.
