EGP index increased against a basket of major currencies to 39.658 points at today's trading

The Egyptian pound index recorded an increase against major currencies by the end of trading on Monday, October 20, 2025, as the index value rose to 39.658 points, compared to 39.593 points at the end of Yesterday’s session.

The EGP index rose at the end of today’s trading session as the Egyptian pound strengthened against the US dollar, euro, British pound, Japanese yen, Chinese yuan, UAE dirham, and Saudi riyal.

The average selling price of the US dollar declined from EGP 47.61 to EGP 47.54 by the end of today’s trading, while the average buying price dropped from EGP 47.51 to EGP 47.44.

The euro’s average selling price decreased from EGP 55.47 to EGP 55.38, while the average buying price fell from EGP 55.35 to EGP 55.25.

The British pound also saw a decline in its average selling price from EGP 63.92 to EGP 63.74, and the average buying price dropped from EGP 63.78 to EGP 63.57 by the end of the session.

The Japanese yen’s average selling price fell from EGP 31.61 to EGP 31.52, while the average buying price declined from EGP 31.53 to EGP 31.45 by the close of trading.

Similarly, the Chinese yuan’s average selling price declined from EGP 6.68 to EGP 6.67, while the average buying price remained stable at EGP 6.66.

The UAE dirham’s average selling price decreased from EGP 12.96 to EGP 12.94, and the average buying price dropped from EGP 12.93 to EGP 12.91.

Finally, the Saudi riyal’s selling price fell from EGP 12.69 to EGP 12.67, while the average buying price declined from EGP 12.66 to EGP 12.64 by the end of today’s trading session.
