EGP index decreased against a basket of major currencies to 39.641 points at today's trading

The Egyptian pound index recorded a decrease against major currencies by the end of trading on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, as the index value rose to 39.641 points, compared to 39.658 points at the end of Yesterday’s session.
The Egyptian pound index declined at the close of today’s trading session, reflecting the currency’s depreciation against the US dollar, Chinese yuan, UAE dirham, and Saudi riyal, while it strengthened against the euro and Japanese yen, and remained stable versus the British pound.
The average selling price of the US dollar rose from EGP 47.54 to EGP 47.60, while the average buying price increased from EGP 47.44 to EGP 47.50 by the end of today’s trading.
Similarly, the average selling price of the Chinese yuan edged up from EGP 6.67 to EGP 6.68, and the average buying price climbed from EGP 6.66 to EGP 6.67 at the close of trading.
The average selling price of the UAE dirham increased from EGP 12.94 to EGP 12.96, while the average buying price rose from EGP 12.91 to EGP 12.93.
The Saudi riyal also appreciated, with its average selling price rising from EGP 12.67 to EGP 12.69, and its average buying price increasing from EGP 12.64 to EGP 12.66.
On the other hand, the average selling price of the euro declined from EGP 55.38 to EGP 55.32, while the average buying price fell from EGP 55.25 to EGP 55.20 by the end of the session.
Meanwhile, the Japanese yen saw a depreciation in the pound’s value, as its average selling price fell from EGP 31.52 to EGP 31.34, and the average buying price declined from EGP 31.45 to EGP 31.27 at the close of trading.
The British pound remained stable, with its average selling price holding at EGP 63.74, while the average buying price rose slightly from EGP 63.57 to EGP 63.59 by the end of the day.
