EGP index increased against a basket of major currencies to 39.697 points at today's trading

The Egyptian pound index rose against major currencies by the end of trading on Sunday, October 26, 2025, as the index value increased to 39.697 points, compared to 39.659 points at the close of trading last Thursday.

The rise in the pound’s index came as a result of its appreciation against the US dollar, British pound, Japanese yen, UAE dirham, and Saudi riyal, while it declined against the euro and remained stable against the Chinese yuan at the close of today’s trading.

The average selling price of the US dollar fell from EGP 47.64 to EGP 47.57 by the end of the day, while the average buying price decreased from EGP 47.54 to EGP 47.47.

The average selling price of the British pound dropped from EGP 63.54 to EGP 63.35, and the average buying price fell from EGP 63.38 to EGP 63.17 by the end of today’s trading.

The average selling price of the Japanese yen also declined from EGP 31.19 to EGP 31.12, while the average buying price decreased from EGP 31.12 to EGP 31.04.

Similarly, the average selling price of the UAE dirham dropped from EGP 12.97 to EGP 12.95, while the average buying price decreased from EGP 12.94 to EGP 12.92 by the end of the session.

The Saudi riyal saw a decline as well, with the selling price falling from EGP 12.70 to EGP 12.68, and the buying price decreasing from EGP 12.67 to EGP 12.65 by the end of trading.

On the other hand, the average selling price of the euro rose from EGP 55.21 to EGP 55.31, while the buying price increased from EGP 55.08 to EGP 55.18 by the close of trading.

Meanwhile, the Chinese yuan remained stable at an average selling price of EGP 6.68, while the average buying price edged down from EGP 6.67 to EGP 6.66 by the end of today’s trading.
