The Pound Index Rises Against Major Currencies to 39.701 Points at the Close of Trading on Monday, 1 December
The Egyptian pound index recorded an increase against major currencies at the close of trading on Monday, 1 December 2025, as the index value rose to 39.701 points at the end of today’s session, compared to 39.700 points at the close of trading on Sunday.
The rise in the pound index came as a result of its appreciation against the US dollar, the British pound, the Chinese yuan, the UAE dirham, and the Saudi riyal, while it declined against the euro and the Japanese yen at the end of today’s trading session.
The average selling price of the US dollar decreased from EGP 47.63 to EGP 47.57 at the close of today’s trading, while the average buying price fell from EGP 47.53 to EGP 47.47 by the end of the session.
The average selling price of the British pound declined from EGP 63.06 to EGP 63.03 at the close of trading, while the average buying price decreased from EGP 62.91 to EGP 62.89 at the end of today’s session.
The average selling price of the Chinese yuan also fell from EGP 6.73 to EGP 6.72 at the close of today’s trading, while the average buying price in Egypt remained stable at EGP 6.71 by the end of the session.
The average selling price of the UAE dirham decreased from EGP 12.96 to EGP 12.95 at the close of today’s trading, while the average buying price declined from EGP 12.94 to EGP 12.92 at the end of the session.
The average selling price of the Saudi riyal also dropped from EGP 12.69 to EGP 12.67 at the close of trading, while the average buying price decreased from EGP 12.66 to EGP 12.65 by the end of the session.
Meanwhile, the average selling price of the euro rose from EGP 55.23 to EGP 55.35 at the close of today’s trading, while the average buying price increased from EGP 55.11 to EGP 55.23 by the end of the session.
The average selling price of the Japanese yen also increased from EGP 30.50 to EGP 30.69 at the close of trading, while the average buying price rose from EGP 30.43 to EGP 30.62 at the end of today’s session.
