Closed the banking sector on the Egyptian Exchange at the end of trading on Sunday 1 February 2026, with an decrease in the sector’s market capitalization by 1.46%, reaching EGP 777.12 billion at the close of today’s session, compared to EGP 788.62 billion at the close of last Th’s session.

The banking sector’s market capitalization represented 25.30% of the total market capitalization today, which is the highest percentage among all sectors listed on the exchange.

The trading value of banking sector shares amounted to EGP 707.18 million, representing 13.47% of the total trading value on the exchange today. A total of 11.35 million shares were traded in the sector, accounting for 0.63% of the total trading volume of the exchange today.

The Egyptian Exchange closed today’s session with a broad-based decline of “EGX30”, While “EGX70” and “EGX100” rose amid a trend of foreign investors toward net buying of EGP 258.8 million.

The main index EGX30 fell by 0.26% to 47.662 points, while EGX70 increased by 1.86% to 12.375 points, and EGX100 rose by 1.61% to 17.098 points.
