EGP index decreased against a basket of major currencies to 38.446 points at today's trading

The Egyptian Pound index decrease against major currencies at the end of trading on sunday 1 March 2026, where the value of the index fell to 38.446 points at the end of today's trading, compared to 39,098 points at the end of yesterday’s trading on thursday.

The decline of the Pound index came as a result of its fell against the US dollar, the euro, the pound sterling, the Japanese yen, the Chinese yuan, UAE dirham, the Saudi riyal at the end of today's trading.

The average selling price of the US dollar rose from EGP 47.97 to EGP 48.80 at the end of today's trading, and the average purchase price rose from EGP 47.87 to EGP 48.70 by the close of trading.  

The average selling price of the euro rose from EGP 56.62 to EGP 56.66 at the end of today's trading, and the average purchase price rose from EGP 56.49 to EGP 57.43 at the end of today’s trading.

The average selling price of the pound sterling rose from EGP 64.96 to EGP 65.82 at the end of today's trading, while the average purchase price fell from EGP 64.81 to EGP 65.67 .

The average selling price of the Japanese yen rose from EGP 30.74 to EGP 31.27 and the average purchase price rose from EGP 30.68 to EGP 31.20 .

The average selling price of the Chinese yuan rose from EGP 7.01 to EGP 7.11 at the end of today's trading, and the average purchase price rose from EGP 6.99 to EGP 7.10  .

The average selling price of the Saudi riyal rose from EGP 12.79 to EGP 13.01 at the end of today’s trading, while the average purchase price rose from EGP 12.76 to EGP 12.98 .

The average selling price of the UAE dirham rose from EGP 13.06 to EGP 13.28 at the end of today’s trading, while the purchase price in Egypt rose from EGP 13.03 to EGP 13.25 .
