Egypt’s banking sector performance on EGX at Thursday closing

Closed the banking sector on the Egyptian Exchange at the end of trading on thursday 5 March 2026, with an increase in the sector’s market capitalization by 2.42%, reaching EGP 762.74 billion at the close of today’s session, compared to EGP 744.72 billion at the close of last tuesday’s session.
The banking sector’s market capitalization represented 24.50% of the total market capitalization today, which is the highest percentage among all sectors listed on the exchange.
The trading value of banking sector shares amounted to EGP 986.7 million, representing 14.47% of the total trading value on the exchange today. A total of 12.4 million shares were traded in the sector, accounting for 0.72% of the total trading volume of the exchange today.
The Egyptian Exchange closed today’s session on a collective Increase in its indexes amid a trend of foreign investors toward net buying of EGP 258.8 million.
The main index “EGX30” increased by 2.29% to 47.516 points, and “EGX70” rose by 1.26% to 12.245 points, and “EGX100” rose by 1.21% to 17.259 points.
