EGP index decreased against a basket of major currencies to 35.766 points at today's trading

The Egyptian Pound index decrease against major currencies at the end of trading on monday 9 March 2026, where the value of the index fell to 35.766 points at the end of today's trading, compared to 36.117 points at the end of yesterday’s trading on sunday.
The decline of the Pound index came as a result of its decreased against the US dollar, the euro, the pound sterling, the Japanese yen, the Saudi riyal, the Chinese yuan, UAE dirham at the end of today's trading.
The average selling price of the US dollar rose from EGP 52.21 to EGP 52.82 at the end of today's trading, and the average purchase price rose from EGP 52.11 to EGP 52.72 by the close of trading.
The average selling price of the euro rose from EGP 60.66 to EGP 61.07 at the end of today's trading, and the average purchase price rose from EGP 60.54 to EGP 60.94 at the end of today’s trading.
The average selling price of the pound sterling rose from EGP 70.04 to EGP 70.51 at the end of today's trading, while the average purchase price fell from EGP 69.89 to EGP 70.35 .
The average selling price of the Japanese yen rose from EGP 33.09 to EGP 33.33 and the average purchase price rose from EGP 33.02 to EGP 33.26 .
The average selling price of the Chinese yuan rose from EGP 7.57 to EGP 7.63 at the end of today's trading, and the average purchase price rose from EGP 7.55 to EGP 7.62 .
The average selling price of the Saudi riyal rose from EGP 13.91 to EGP 14.07 at the end of today’s trading, while the average purchase price rose from EGP 13.88 to EGP 14.04 .
The average selling price of the UAE dirham rose from EGP 14.21 to EGP 14.38 at the end of today’s trading, while the purchase price in Egypt rose from EGP 14.18 to EGP 14.35 .
