EGP index increased against a basket of major currencies to 36.103 points at today's trading

The Egyptian Pound index increase against major currencies at the end of trading on monday 16 March 2026, where the value of the index fell to 36.103 points at the end of today's trading, compared to 36.055 points at the end of yesterday’s trading on sunday.

The rise of the Pound index came as a result of its increased against the US dollar, Saudi riyal, UAE dirham, the Chinese yuan, and its decreased against the euro, the pound sterling, the Japanese yen at the end of today's trading.

The average selling price of the US dollar fell from EGP 52.58 to EGP 52.43 at the end of today's trading, and the average purchase price fell from EGP 52.48 to EGP 52.32 . 

The average selling price of the Saudi riyal fell from EGP 14.01 to EGP 13.97 at the end of today’s trading, while the average purchase price fell from EGP 13.96 to EGP 13.99 .

The average selling price of the UAE dirham fell from EGP 14.32 to EGP 14.28 at the end of today’s trading, while the purchase price in Egypt fell from EGP 14.29 to EGP 14.24 by the close of trading.

The average selling price of the Chinese yuan fell from EGP 7.62 to EGP 7.60 at the end of today's trading, and the average purchase price fell from EGP 7.60 to EGP 7.58  .

The average selling price of the euro rose from EGP 60.03 to EGP 60.19 at the end of today's trading, and the average purchase price rose from EGP 59.91 to EGP 60.06 at the end of today’s trading.

The average selling price of the pound sterling rose from EGP 69.56 to EGP 69.60 at the end of today's trading, while the average purchase price rose from EGP 69.39 to EGP 69.45 .

The average selling price of the Japanese yen rose from EGP32.92 to EGP 32.94 and the average purchase price rose from EGP 32.85 to EGP 32.87 .
