Egypt’s banking sector performance on EGX at Thursday

The banking sector in the Egyptian Stock Exchange closed in today’s trading session on thursday , May 14, 2026, recording a decreased in its market capitalization by 1.16%, reaching EGP 895.541 billion at the end of today’s session, compared to 906.040 the previous day’s closing.
The sector’s market capitalization accounted for 24.26%of the total market capitalization, the highest share among all listed sectors on the exchange.
Trading value on banking sector stocks reached EGP 950.68 million, representing 7.64% of the total trading value on the exchange today. A total of 13.11 million shares were traded in the sector, accounting for 0.50%of the overall trading volume of the market.
The Egyptian Exchange closed today’s session with the main index “EGX30” declining, while both “EGX70” and “EGX100” indices rose, amid foreign investors’ tendency toward buying with a net inflow of EGP 258.8 million.
The main index “EGX30” fell by 0.49% to 53.154 points, while the “EGX70” index rose by 0.12%to 15.087points, and the “EGX100” index increased by 0.23% to reach 20.990points.
