Egypt’s banking sector performance on EGX at Sunday

the banking sector in the Egyptian Stock Exchange closed in today’s trading session on Sunday, June 7, 2026, recording decreased in its market capitalization by 0.19%, reaching EGP 872.27 billion at the end of today’s session, compared to 873.92 the previous trading session's closing.

The sector’s market capitalization accounted for 24.6% of the total market capitalization, the highest share among all listed sectors on the exchange.

Trading value on banking sector stocks reached EGP 365.869 million, representing 3.95% of the total trading value on the exchange today. A total of 8.212 million shares were traded in the sector, accounting for 0.21% of the overall trading volume of the market.

The Egyptian Exchange closed at the end of today’s trading session with a collective decline in the main stock market indices, This came amid foreign investors’ tendency toward buying, recording a net purchase value of approximately EGP 258.8 million.

The benchmark EGX30 index declined by 0.93% to close at 52.164 points, while the EGX70 index fell by 0.65% to 15.349 points, and the EGX100 index decreased by 0.68% to close at 21.213 points.
