Egypt’s banking sector performance on EGX at Wednesday
the banking sector in the Egyptian Stock Exchange closed in today’s trading session on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, recording a decrease in its market capitalization by 1.53%, reaching EGP 861.16 billion at the end of today’s session, compared to 874.58 the previous trading session's closing.
The sector’s market capitalization accounted for 24.20% of the total market capitalization, the highest share among all listed sectors on the exchange.
Trading value on banking sector stocks reached EGP 759.233 million, representing 7.05% of the total trading value on the exchange today. A total of 10.446 million shares were traded in the sector, accounting for 0.26% of the overall trading volume of the market.
The Egyptian Exchange closed at the end of today’s trading session with a collective decline in the main stock market indices, This came amid foreign investors’ tendency toward buying, recording a net purchase value of approximately EGP 258.8 million.
The benchmark EGX30 index declined by 2.13% to close at 51.256 points, while the EGX70 index fell by 2.40% to 15.206 points, and the EGX100 index decreased by 2.55% to close at 20.911 points.
