Egypt’s banking sector performance on EGX at Thursday
the banking sector in the Egyptian Stock Exchange closed in today’s trading session on Thursday, June 11, 2026, recording a decrease in its market capitalization by 0.47%, reaching EGP 857.13 billion at the end of today’s session, compared to 861.16 the previous trading session's closing.
The sector’s market capitalization accounted for 24.31% of the total market capitalization, the highest share among all listed sectors on the exchange.
Trading value on banking sector stocks reached EGP 629.408 million, representing 5.87% of the total trading value on the exchange today. A total of 8.619 million shares were traded in the sector, accounting for 0.23% of the overall trading volume of the market.
The Egyptian Exchange closed at the end of today’s trading session with a collective decline in the main stock market indices, This came amid foreign investors’ tendency toward buying, recording a net purchase value of approximately EGP 258.8 million.
The benchmark EGX30 index declined by 0.85% to close at 50.818 points, while the EGX70 index fell by 1.44% to 14.986 points, and the EGX100 index decreased by 1.41% to close at 20.616 points.
