Growth in shareholders’ equity at EGX-listed banks slows to 6.30 per cent in H1 2026 from 11.16 per cent a year earlier
ADIB Egypt, Suez Canal Bank and EBank remain among the five fastest-growing listed banks
Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank – Egypt (ADIB Egypt) ranked first among the fastest-growing EGX-listed banks by shareholders’ equity in H1 2026, according to FirstBank’s ranking.
ADIB Egypt’s shareholders’ equity rose 26.1 per cent to EGP 42.45 billion at end-June 2026 from EGP 33.65 billion at end-2025.
Suez Canal Bank ranked second, with shareholders’ equity rising 14.3 per cent in H1 2026 to EGP 23.16 billion at end-June from EGP 20.27 billion at end-2025.
Export Development Bank of Egypt (EBank) ranked third, after shareholders’ equity increased 11.8 per cent in the first six months of 2026 to EGP 26.90 billion at end-June from EGP 24.07 billion at end-2025.
The ranking, which covers all 12 banks listed on the Egyptian Exchange (EGX), showed that each recorded positive growth in shareholders’ equity during H1 2026.
Combined shareholders’ equity at EGX-listed banks rose 6.3 per cent in H1 2026 to EGP 626.64 billion at end-June from EGP 589.53 billion at end-2025.
The data also show that growth in shareholders’ equity at listed banks slowed to 6.3 per cent in H1 2026 from 11.2 per cent in the same period of 2025.
ADIB Egypt, Suez Canal Bank and EBank also remained among the five fastest-growing EGX-listed banks by shareholders’ equity in both H1 2026 and 2025.
All figures and growth rates cited in the analysis are based on the standalone financial statements disclosed by each bank for the period ended June 2026.
