First Bank’s latest ranking reveals Egypt’s 10 largest banks at end-June 2026
NBE leads the ranking with more than one-third of the sector's assets

QNB Egypt climbs from fifth to fourth place at end-June 2026
National Bank of Egypt (NBE) topped First Bank’s ranking of Egypt’s 10 largest banks by asset market share at end-June 2026, accounting for more than one-third of the banking sector’s total assets, with a market share of approximately 35.21 per cent.
Banque Misr ranked second, with a market share of approximately 16.31 per cent of Egypt’s total banking sector assets at end-June 2026.
Commercial International Bank – Egypt (CIB) secured third place, with a market share of 6.08 per cent and total assets of approximately EGP 1.68tn at end-June 2026.
The ranking revealed that six banks retained their positions, while four changed places among Egypt’s 10 largest banks compared with the 2025 ranking.
QNB Egypt climbed from fifth place at end-2025 to fourth at end-June 2026, while Arab African International Bank (AAIB) slipped from fourth to fifth over the same period.
Agricultural Bank of Egypt also advanced from eighth place at end-2025 to seventh at end-June 2026, while First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB) moved in the opposite direction, slipping from seventh to eighth.
Returning to the ranking, QNB Egypt secured fourth place, with a market share of 3.84 per cent of the banking sector’s total assets and an asset base of approximately EGP 1.06tn at end-June 2026.
AAIB ranked fifth, accounting for 3.75 per cent of the sector’s total assets, with approximately EGP 1.04tn at end-June 2026.
Banque du Caire secured sixth place, with a market share of 2 per cent and total assets of approximately EGP 552.5bn at end-June 2026.
Agricultural Bank of Egypt ranked seventh, accounting for 1.72 per cent of the sector’s total assets, with an asset base of approximately EGP 476.86bn at end-June 2026.
FAB ranked eighth, with a market share of 1.52 per cent and total assets of approximately EGP 419.99bn at end-June 2026.
HSBC secured ninth place, accounting for approximately 1.5 per cent of Egypt’s total banking sector assets at end-June 2026.
Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank – Egypt (ADIB-Egypt) completed the top 10, with a market share of 1.49 per cent and total assets of approximately EGP 411.85bn at end-June 2026.
Across the banking sector, total assets rose 14.7 per cent during the first half of 2026 to EGP 27.66tn at end-June, from EGP 24.12tn at end-2025.
