First Bank’s composite growth index assessed the performance of banks operating in Egypt based on four key indicators reflecting their financial performance during H1 2026.

These indicators included net profit growth, total loans growth, customer deposits growth, and total assets growth after excluding loans, as loans were already incorporated as a separate component of the index.

The four indicators were assigned different relative weights to reflect their respective contributions to the overall composite growth rate.

Regarding Islamic banks, they secured two places among the top 10 fastest-growing banks, out of four Islamic banks included in the ranking: ADIB Egypt, Kuwait Finance House Bank Egypt, Faisal Islamic Bank of Egypt, and alBaraka Bank Egypt.

ADIB Egypt topped the overall ranking, while Faisal Islamic Bank of Egypt secured sixth place.

As for foreign banks operating in Egypt, they claimed four places among the top 10, out of 13 foreign banks covered by the ranking.

These banks were ADIB Egypt, QNB Egypt, Emirates NBD Egypt, and NBK Egypt.

It is worth noting that all growth rates mentioned in this analysis are based on the standalone financial statements disclosed by each bank as of end-June 2026.
