Bank NXT has recorded strong growth in its lending activities over the past three years, expanding its customer loans and facilities portfolio by more than EGP 38bn, supported by notable growth in both retail and corporate loans.

According to the Bank’s financial statements, its total customer loans and facilities portfolio grew by 162.8 per cent over the three-year period, reaching EGP 61.46bn as of June 2026, compared to EGP 23.39bn in June 2023, marking an increase of EGP 38.07bn.

An analysis of the portfolio components reveals a notable shift in the Bank’s lending structure, with corporate loans maintaining the lead in terms of absolute growth, while retail loans recorded a faster growth rate, strengthening their share of total loans.

Corporate loans drive expansion with an increase exceeding EGP 20bn

Corporate loans, including small business loans, accounted for the largest contribution to Bank NXT’s portfolio growth over the past three years, increasing from EGP 17.31bn as of June 2023 to EGP 38.27bn as of June 2026, marking an increase of EGP 20.96bn and a growth rate of 121.1 per cent.

Corporate loans accounted for approximately 55.06 per cent of the total increase in the Bank’s customer loans portfolio during the analysis period, reflecting their continued role as the main driver supporting the Bank’s lending activities.

This growth was primarily driven by the expansion of direct corporate loans, which increased from EGP 14.25bn as of June 2023 to EGP 29.55bn as of June 2026, recording an increase of approximately EGP 15.30bn.

Moreover, syndicated loans rose from EGP 2.01bn to EGP 6.86bn, while corporate overdrafts increased from EGP 1.04bn to EGP 1.86bn over the same period, reflecting broader growth across the Bank’s corporate lending activities.

Despite this expansion, corporate loans’ share of the total portfolio declined to 62.27 per cent as of June 2026, compared to 74 per cent in June 2023, down by approximately 11.74 percentage points, reflecting faster retail loan growth.

Retail loans surge 281.4%, boosting their portfolio share

On the retail banking front, Bank NXT recorded strong growth over the past three years, with its retail loans portfolio increasing from EGP 6.08bn as of June 2023 to EGP 23.19bn as of June 2026, marking an increase of EGP 17.11bn and a growth rate of 281.4 per cent.

Retail loans recorded a growth rate more than twice that of corporate loans, raising their share of the total customer loans portfolio to 37.73 per cent as of June 2026, compared to 26 per cent in June 2023, an increase of approximately 11.74 percentage points.

Retail loans also contributed approximately 44.94 per cent of the total increase in customer loans during the analysis period, despite accounting for only 26 per cent of the portfolio at the beginning of the period.

This development highlights the growing importance of the retail banking segment in the Bank’s lending activities, alongside the continued expansion of its corporate loans portfolio, reflecting growth across its main lending segments.

A review of the historical performance reveals a clear acceleration in the Bank’s lending expansion over the past two years, as its customer loans portfolio increased from EGP 23.39bn as of June 2023 to EGP 26.38bn in June 2024, before reaching EGP 41.01bn in June 2025 and EGP 61.46bn in June 2026.

Overall, these indicators highlight a gradual shift in Bank NXT’s lending structure, with the Bank achieving strong growth across both corporate and retail loans, as corporates led absolute growth while faster retail expansion strengthened their share of the total portfolio.
