Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics announced, in a statement issued today, that the annual inflation rate was recorded at 32.9% for February 2023, compared to 10% for the same month of the previous year.

The statement indicated that the monthly inflation rate increased by 7.1% during January, as CPI reached 161.3 points for February 2023, recording an increase of 7.1% compared to January 2023.

Due to the increase in the prices of cereals and bread group by 9.2%, meat and poultry group by 29.7%, and fish and seafood group by 19.5%.

In addition, dairy group, cheese and eggs increased by 11.1%, oils and fats increased by 4.3%, fruits increased by 10.8%, vegetables by 5.3%, coffee, tea and cocoa by 7%, and smoke by 0.2%.

textiles increased by 2.9%, shoes by 1.5%, rent for housing by 1.1%, home appliances by 6.2%.

In addition to the increase in medical products, devices and equipment by 1%, services for hospitals by 3.7%, readers for Pharmaceutical compounds by 2.9%, the group agreed on private transportation by 1.4%, newspapers, books and stationery by 2.3%, tourist trips by 18.6% , junk food group increased by 6.3%.

The annual inflation rate for the whole recorded 32.9% for February 2023, compared to 10% for the same month of the previous year.
