Banking sector grows by 32.50% on First Bank composite index during 2022
The Egyptian banking sector achieved a growth rate of 32.50% on First Bank composite index during 2022, after a strong performance in all its activities including deposits portfolio, loan portfolio, and assets portfolio.
Deposit portfolio jumped by 33.01%, to reach EGP8.58 tn by the end of 2022, compared to EGP6.45 tn by the end of 2021, an increase of EGP2.13 tn.
Loan portfolio increased by 32.34%, to record EGP 4.01 tn at the end of 2022, compared to EGP 3.03 tn at the end of 2021, an increase of EGP 980.63 bn.
While total assets of banks (other than CBE) jumped by 32.14%, to reach EGP11.4 tn by the end of 2022, compared to EGP8.63 tn by the end of 2021, an increase of EGP2.77 tn.
