Egypt’s banking sector performance on EGX at Sunday's closing session

The banking sector ends EGX trading session on Sunday 14 January 2024 with increase in the market cap by 1.3% to record EGP 424.194 bn compared to EGP 418.600 bn at yesterday's session.

The market cap of the banking sector reached 24.05% of the total EGX market cap, which is considered the highest percentage among the sectors listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange

The turnover on banking sector shares amounted to EGP 265.367 mn which represents 6.51% of the total trading volume today after 5.357 million shares were exchanged capturing 0.36% of the total trading volume.

The indexes of the Egyptian Exchange ended Today’s trading session with increase and turnover amounted EGP 10 mn on shares.

The main index of the Egyptian Stock Exchange “EGX30” rose by 1.79% and 25.519 points, “EGX70” index for medium stocks rose by 3.10% to record 6.145 points, and the broader index “EGX100” Increased by 2.78% to record 8.719 points.
