Ahli United Bank topped First Bank list of most investing in customers loans. The bank’s net customer loan portfolio acquired 56.37%, which is considered the largest share of its total assets

 AUB’s customer loans posted EGP 44.3 billion by the end of June 2022, while its total assets recorded EGP 78.6 billion during the same period.

First Bank made up list for banks most focused on investing in customer loans

The First Bank conducted a list for banks most focused on investing in customer loans. The list went through the investment trends of banks operating in Egypt, specifically on the level of total customer loans. The measure is based on net loans to customers to total assets criterion, to give an indication of the extent to which the bank’s asset portfolio is concentrated into customer loans.

Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank (ADIB) ranked second, after customers loans portfolio acquired a relative weight of 53% of the bank’s total assets. The bank’s customers’ loans posted EGP51.7 billion pounds, while its total assets portfolio recorded EGP 97.5 billion at the end of June 2022.

Credit Agricole Egypt was third on the list after 51.07% of the bank’s total assets were concentrated in the customer loan portfolio at the end of the first half of 2022. The bank’s customer loans amounted to EGP31.7 billion while its asset portfolio amounted to EGP 62.1 billion.

Saib maintains the fourth place followed by QNB and ABK

In addition, Saib was in fourth place on the list as its customer loan portfolio accounted for 50.44% of the bank’s total assets at the end of last June. The bank’s loans portfolio recoded 38.3 billion pounds, while total assets posted 76 billion pounds by the end of H1\2022.

Moreover, QNB Al Ahli Bank came in fifth place  after 49% of the total assets portfolio was concentrated in the customer loan portfolio, followed by E-Bank in which loans portfolio acquired 48.18% during the same period.

Furthermore, Al Ahli Bank of Kuwait - Egypt was in the seventh place on the list as 47.51% of its total assets were concentrated in the customer loan portfolio by the end of H1\2022.

Attijariwafa bank came in eighth place with a concentration rate of 47.17% at the end of the first half of 2022, followed by Emirates NBD and Alex Bank with 47% and 45.28%, respectively, at the end of the same period.
