NBE cooperates with Secured and smart documents complex in supplying paper for Secured banking cheques
The National Bank of Egypt has signed a cooperation protocol with Secured and smart documents complex to supply raw paper for banking cheques insured with international insurance specifications as well as modern specifications approved by the Central Bank of Egypt.
The signing was attended by Yehia Abou ElFotouh, Deputy Chairman of the National Bank of Egypt, Ahmed Abdelsalam, Chief Executive Officer of the Secured and Smart Publications Complex, Hossam El-Haggar, Group Head of Administration at National Bank of Egypt, and Tarek Shaaban,supervisor of police printers.
Yehia Abou ElFotouh expressed the importance of cooperating with the Secured and smart documents complex, because of its return on the exploitation of the new methods of secured printing and keeping abreast of technological development in this area in accordance with Egypt's Vision 2030, in order to reduce import, deepen domestic product and increase domestic industrial investment.
He stressed NBE's continued interest in moving towards Egyptian industry through products with a unique level of quality, because of its significant economic return, by keeping pace with the global competition in similar products, which positively affects the support of the national economy.
He pointed out that this cooperation will for the first time achieve the advantage of stopping the import of insured cheque paper from abroad, and rely on newly produced local paper in Secured and smart documents complex which will be supplied to police printers which will handle the printing functions on paper in accordance with the modern printing insurance specifications as well as the cheque paper and the supply of books to the NBE with the same specifications for imported paper and higher quality.
