Egypt’s NBE doubles its assets by 125% over 3 years
The National Bank of Egypt, largest state-run lender, has managed to double its assets portfolio over the past three years as it has grown by 125 % to record EGP3.6 trillion s at the end of June 2022, compared to 1.6 trillion pounds at the end of 2018, achieving an increase of 2 trillion pounds.
However, NBE’s assets portfolio recorded highest grow rate and value during 2021; as it jumped by 42.11% posting EGP3.23 trillion pounds at the end of last year, compared to EGP 2.28 trillion at the end of 2020 with an increase of 958 billion pounds.
In addition, the bank managed to increase its assets portfolio during the current year to record 3.6 EGP trillion by the end of the first half of 2022, compared to EGP3.2 trillion by the end of 2021, achieving a growth rate of 12.50% on a semi-annual basis.
Moreover, the bank has managed to increase its market share of asset by 6.5%, as it jumped to exceed 36% of the total assets of the banking sector at the end of June 2022, compared to 29.48% at the end of 2018, having a lion share of assets among banks operating In the Egyptian market.
