Egypt’s banking sector market cap rose 1.99% on Sunday closing session
The banking sector ends EGX trading session on Sunday with an increase in the market cap by 1.99% or EGP 219.869 billion compared to EGP 210.460 billion yesterday.
The market cap of the banking sector reached 26.83% of the total EGX market cap, which is considered the highest percentage among the sectors listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange.
The turnover on banking sector amounted to EGP 174.2 million after 6.355 billion shares were exchanged, which represents 7.33% of the total trading volume.
The bench mark EGX30 closed with a slight increase of 3.22%, or 14.078 points. The EGX50 EWI also gained 3.40% to settle at 2,408.73 points.
Moreover, the small- and mid-cap EGX70 EWI as well as EGX100 EWI increased by 1.78% to 2,668.98 points and by 2.39% to 3,900.89 points, respectively.
The turnover amounted to EGP 2.37 billion after 825.26 million shares were exchanged, while the market cap value totalled EGP 913.95 billion.
