Egypt’s CBE assets increases 6.29 to reach EGP 3.7 in November 2022

The total assets of the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) increased to record EGP 3.7 trn in November 2022, compared to EGP 3.481 trn in June 2021 with a growth rate of 6.29%.

According to the CBE’s financial statements published on its website, gold assets increased by 9.18% during November 2022 to record EGP 173.658 billion, compared to EGP 159.062 billion at the end of October 2022.

The C.bank’s due from banks rose to EGP 249.026 billion at the end of November 2022, compared to EGP 239.727 billion at the end of last October.

Furthermore, Duo from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) recorded EGP 7.105 billion at the end of November, compared to EGP 11.664 billion at the end of October. The total cash on hand stood at EGP 9.756 billion at the end of November, compared to EGP 10.208 billion at the end of October.

The Central Bank’s investments in the capital of international financial institutions increased by 1.86%, to record EGP 16.190 billion at the end of November 2022, compared to EGP 15.895 billion at the end of the October.

However, its investments in capital of subsidiaries and associates increased by 0.25%, to reach EGP28.028 billion at the end of last November, compared to EGP 27.959 billion at the end of October.

Moreover, the Central Bank’s capital recorded EGP21.600 billion, while the total reserves amounted to EGP 328.603 billion at the end of November 2022, compared to EGP 328.366 billion at October.
