EGP index losses 0.599 points over a week recording 75.608 on Thursday

The Egyptian pound index declined 0.599 points against the major currencies over the week where it fell to 75.608 points, compared to 76.207 points a week earlier.

The Egyptian pound index declines against a basket of seven major currencies that measures the performance of the pound. It fell against the Pound Sterling, Saudi Dollar, US dollar the Chinese yuan, the Japnese yen and the UAE Dirham.

The average selling rate of the US dollar in Egypt rose from EGP 24.64 at the end of last week's trading to EGP24.71 pounds on Thursday, while the average buying price rose from EGP24.56 to EGP24.63

The average selling rate of the euro in Egypt rose from EGP 25.92 pounds to EGP 26.24 pounds in today's trading, while the average buying rate rose from EGP 25.83 to EGP 26.15

The average rate of the pound sterling in Egypt increased from EGP 29.98 to EGP 30.44 in today's dealings, while the average buying price increased from EGP 29.88 to EGP 30.34.

The average rate of the Chinese yuan in Egypt rose from EGP 3.53 pounds to EGP 3.54, while the buying  rate increased from EGP 3.52 to EGP 3.53

The average rate  of the Saudi riyal in Egypt rose from EGP 6.54 pounds at the end of last week's trading to EGP 6.55 on Thursday, while the buying price rose from EGP 6.52 to EGP 6.53. 6.55 to 6.57 at the end of today's trading, while the buying price increased from EGP 6.53 to EGP 6.55

However, the average selling rate the Japanese yen in Egypt rose from 18.01 pounds to 18.10 pounds at the end of the day's trading, while the buying price rose from 17.95 pounds to 18.04 pounds.

The average selling  rateof the UAE dirham in Egypt rose from 6.70 pounds to 6.72 pounds at the end of the day's trading, while buying price increased from 6.68 pounds to 6.70 pounds.
