Egypt’s banking sector performance on EGX at Wednesday's closing session
The banking sector ends EGX trading session on Wednesday 8 January 2025 with an decrease in the market cap by 0.2% to record EGP 477.707 bn compared to EGP 478.483 bn at yesterday's session.
The market cap of the banking sector reached 22.18% of the total EGX market cap, which is considered the highest percentage among the sectors listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange.
The turnover on banking sector shares amounted to 295.158 mn which represents 10.24% of the total trading volume today after 6.964 million shares were exchanged capturing 0.73% of the total trading volume.
The indexes of the Egyptian Exchange ended Today’s trading session with decrease and turnover amounted EGP 58.2 mn on shares.
The main index of the Egyptian Stock Exchange “EGX30” decrease by 0.48% to reach 29.950 points EGX70 increases by 0.39% to record 8.346 points, and the broader index “EGX100” rose by 0.47% to record 11.470 points.
