Egypt’s banking sector performance on EGX at Sunday's closing session

The banking sector ends EGX trading session on Sunday 12 January 2025 with an decrease in the market cap by 1% to record EGP 467.376 bn compared to EGP 472.033 bn at yesterday's session.

The market cap of the banking sector reached 22.41% of the total EGX market cap, which is considered the highest percentage among the sectors listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange.

 The turnover on banking sector shares amounted to 226.222 mn which represents 7.77% of the total trading volume today after 5.667 million shares were exchanged capturing 0.70% of the total trading volume.

 The indexes of the Egyptian Exchange ended Today’s trading session with decrease and turnover amounted EGP 58.2 mn on shares.

 The main index of the Egyptian Stock Exchange “EGX30” decrease  by 0.57% to reach 29.444 points EGX70 decrease by 1.80% to record 8.303 points, and the broader index “EGX100” fell by   1.35% to record 11.376 points.
