Egypt’s banking sector performance on EGX at Wednesday's closing session

The banking sector ends EGX trading session on Wednesday 22 January 2025 with an decrease  in the market cap by 0.11% to record EGP 463.820 bn compared to EGP 464.344 bn at yesterday's session.

The market cap of the banking sector reached  21.42% of the total EGX market cap, which is considered the highest percentage among the sectors listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange.

 The turnover on banking sector shares amounted to 239.095 mn which represents 5.16% of the total trading volume today after 6.292 million shares were exchanged capturing  0.28% of the total trading volume.

 The indexes of the Egyptian Exchange ended Today’s trading session with increases and turnover amounted EGP 58.2 mn on shares.

 The main index of the Egyptian Stock Exchange “EGX30” increases by 0.51% to reach 30.178 points EGX70 increases by 0.52% to record 8.596 points, and the broader index “EGX100” rose by   0.66% to record 11.757 points.
