Al Baraka, Faisal Islamic Bank and the United Bank top banks in focusing on savings certificates by 2024-End

FirstBank list of banks listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange (EGX) most focused on savings and deposit certificates by the end of 2024 revealed that Al Baraka Bank had topped the list, after its portfolio of savings and deposit certificates accounted for 34.76% worth 37.050 billion pounds of the bank's deposit volume that account for 106.572 billion pounds by the end of 2024.
The list monitors the trends of all 12 banks listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange (EGX) in the formation of the deposit portfolio and specifically on the level of offering savings and deposit certificates to attract more customers.
The list is based on a standard (savings and deposit certificates/total deposits), to provide an indication of the concentration of the Bank's deposit portfolio in the savings and deposit certificates by the end of 2024.
Returning to the list, Faisal Islamic Bank won second place with a concentration of 27.40% of its total customer deposit portfolio of EGP 177.055 billion, in the portfolio of certificates of savings and deposits estimated at EGP 48.508 billion by the end of 2024.
The United Bank clinched third place on the list, with 24.42% of its 62.815 billion pound portfolio by the end of 2024, in the savings and deposit certificates portfolio, which recorded 15.337 billion pounds by the end of that year.
Commercial International Bank "CIB" Egypt acquired the fourth position, having concentrated 24.25% of its total customer deposit portfolio of 967.895 billion pounds, in its portfolio of savings and deposit certificates estimated at 234.726 billion pounds by the end of 2024.
Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank - Egypt "ADIB" came in fifth place with a concentration of 21.18% of the bank's total customer deposits of EGP200.283 billion, in the portfolio of certificates of savings and deposits estimated at EGP42.425 billion by the end of 2024.
It should be noted that the concentration ratios and values described above are in accordance with each bank's reported independent financial statements by the end of 2024.
