Overview

Since its establishment in 1981, the bank has grown steadily over the years following an organic expansion strategy providing value-added services. EGBANK has been nominated by the Egyptian and international press as the fastest-growing bank in Egypt.

 The main vision behind founding the bank was to establish a private Egyptian bank to serve and support the developmental projects in Egypt and the Arab countries.

The main founders of the Egyptian Gulf Bank; Salah Mahmoud, Jawad Bukhamseen, Fahd ElShbokshy, Abdel Rahman ElSharbatly and Misr Insurance, within an era where the economic scene was witnessing improvement and potential growth.

In February 2020, the Egyptian Gulf Bank obtained the approval of the Financial Supervisory Authority to increase its capital to US$422 million with an increase of more than US$ 30. In addition, the bank generated a consolidated net profit of EGP 657.9 million in the year ended December 2019, which amounted to EGP 560 million in December 2018.

Gulf Bank of Egypt has about 44 branches in Egypt, 20 of them are in Cairo governorate, 12 branches of are in Giza governorate and 6 branches in Alexandria governorate.

The bank has followed the expansion strategy by cooperating in projects with market leaders in various sectors. All of this was reflected in adding value to the Egyptian market.

It believes that youth is an infinite source of inspiration that is why it makes sure that the youth is constantly engaged, providing them with relevant tools and solutions to reach their full potential.

The bank has total assets portfolio of approximately 72 billion pounds, loan portfolio 22.7 billion pounds, and deposits of 60 billion pounds, according to its financial statement at the end of 2020.
