Suez Canal Bank, Housing and Development Bank, and EGBANK record the fastest growth in net interest income during the first 9M 2025
Suez Canal Bank tops the list, followed by Housing and Development Bank in second place.

Net interest income declined at three banks during the first nine months.
The First Bank list of the fastest-growing banks in terms of net interest income during the first nine months of 2025 revealed that Suez Canal Bank ranked first, after its net interest income rose by approximately 58.1%, reaching EGP 6.15 bn, compared to EGP 3.89 bn during the first nine months of 2024.
Housing and Development Bank ranked second, with net interest income increasing by around 52.7% to reach EGP 20.28 bn during the first nine months of 2025, compared to EGP 13.28 bn in the same period of 2024.
The Egyptian Gulf Bank secured third place, recording net interest income of approximately EGP 6.15 bn in the first nine months of 2025, compared to EGP 4.08 bn in the corresponding period of 2024, reflecting a growth rate of 50.8%.
The First Bank list monitored net interest income for 27 banks operating within the Egyptian banking system for which the necessary financial data were available. The data showed that 24 banks achieved positive growth rates in their net interest income, while three banks recorded a slight decline during the first nine months of 2025.
The ranking highlighted a strong presence of the private sector, with private banks capturing seven positions among the top 10 fastest-growing banks. These included Suez Canal Bank, EGBANK, Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank , Al Ahli Bank of Kuwait–Egypt, Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank, Al Baraka Bank, and National Bank of Kuwait–Egypt .
