HD Bank, AAIB and saib top the fastest growing banks in retail deposits during 2024

First Bank list of banks with the fastest growth in retail deposits during 2024 revealed that the Housing and Development Bank topped the list, as its portfolio of retail deposits increased by about 74.48% over the past year, reaching 80.471 billion pounds by the end of 2024, compared to 46.120 billion pounds by the end of 2023.
First Bank list monitored the volume of individual deposits with 24 banks operating in the Egyptian banking sector for which data was available during the analysis period, indicating that all banks under analysis achieved positive growth rates in their total individual deposit portfolios during the year 2024.
Returning to the list, Arab African International Bank took second place with a growth rate of 66.05% over the past year, after the size of its portfolio of individual deposits increased to 274.787 billion pounds by the end of 2024, compared to 165.480 billion pounds by the end of 2023.
saib won third place, as its portfolio of retail deposits increased by about 64.25% during 2024, recording 39.948 billion pounds at the end of last year, compared to 24.322 billion pounds at the end of 2023.
Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank – Egypt «ADCB» came fourth, after the volume of retail deposits jumped by about 60.95% during 2024, reaching 23.036 billion pounds by the end of 2024, compared to 14.312 billion pounds by the end of 2023.
Al Ahli Bank of Kuwait – Egypt «ABK – Egypt» took fifth place, thanks to an increase in its portfolio of retail deposits by about 58.06% over the past year, recording 33.934 billion pounds by the end of 2024, compared to 21.469 billion pounds by the end of 2023.
Emirates NBD clinched sixth place, as the volume of its retail deposits increased by about 51.95% during 2024, reaching 46.099 billion pounds at the end of 2024, compared to 30.338 billion pounds at the end of 2023.
Al Baraka Bank came in seventh place, as its retail deposit portfolio jumped by about 50.43% over the past year, reaching 62.685 billion pounds by the end of 2024, compared to 41.671 billion pounds by the end of 2023.
Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank – Egypt «ADIB» ranked eighth, as its portfolio of retail deposits increased by about 50.39% over the past year, recording 86.805 billion pounds by the end of 2024, compared to 57.719 billion pounds by the end of 2023.
Suez Canal Bank dominated ninth place, after the volume of its retail deposits jumped by about 46.95% during 2024, reaching 21.127 billion pounds at the end of last year, compared to 14.377 billion pounds at the end of 2023.
As for tenth place, it went to the Commercial International Bank «CIB», as its portfolio of retail deposits increased by about 45.47% over the past year, recording 537.325 billion pounds by the end of 2024, compared to 369.374 billion pounds by the end of 2023.
