ADCB, Credit Agricole, and ABK- Egypt top fastest growing banks in syndicated loans during 2024

First Bank's list of the fastest growing banks in syndicated loans during 2024 revealed that Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank topped – Egypt «ADCB», as its portfolio jumped by about 239.93% over the past year, reaching 6.402 billion pounds by the end of 2024, compared to 1.883 billion pounds by the end of 2023.
First Bank list monitored the size of the syndicated loan portfolios of 22 banks operating in the Egyptian banking sector, for which financial data was available during the period under analysis, and revealed that all banks under analysis achieved positive growth rates in the size of their portfolios, with the exception of one bank that recorded a noticeable decline during the year 2024.
Returning to the list, Credit Agricole Bank – Egypt took second place, as the volume of its syndicated loans increased by about 112.34% over the past year, reaching 2.910 billion pounds at the end of 2024, compared to 1.371 billion pounds at the end of 2023.
Al Ahli Bank of Kuwait – Egypt «ABK–Egypt» snatched third place, thanks to an increase in its portfolio of syndicated loans by about 103.28% over the past year, reaching 3.347 billion pounds by the end of 2024, compared to 1.647 billion pounds by the end of 2023.
Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank – Egypt «ADIB» won fourth place, as its portfolio of joint financing jumped by about 84.06% over the past year, recording 1.463 billion pounds at the end of 2024, compared to 795.048 million pounds at the end of 2023.
Bank NXT ranked fifth, after the volume of its syndicated loans increased by about 73.50% over the past year, reaching 5.783 billion pounds by the end of 2024, compared to 3.333 billion pounds by the end of 2023.
Al Baraka Bank came in sixth place, after its syndicated financing portfolio increased by about 62.94% over the past year, reaching 7.379 billion pounds by the end of 2024, compared to 4.528 billion pounds by the end of 2023.
QNB Egypt occupied seventh place, as its portfolio of syndicated loans increased by about 56.37% during 2024, recording 34.780 billion pounds at the end of last year, compared to 22.243 billion pounds at the end of 2023.
Commercial International Bank – Egypt «CIB» came eighth, after its syndicated loan portfolio jumped by about 55.84% over the past year, reaching 79.964 billion pounds by the end of 2024, compared to 51.312 billion pounds by the end of 2023.
Suez Canal Bank dominated ninth place, thanks to an increase in the volume of its joint loans by about 52.39% over the past year, reaching 16.661 billion pounds at the end of 2024, compared to 10.933 billion pounds at the end of 2023.
As for tenth place, it went to saib, as its portfolio of syndicated loans jumped by about 51.60% over the past year, recording 21.033 billion pounds by the end of 2024, compared to 13.874 billion pounds by the end of 2023.
