Egypt’s banking sector performance on EGX at Tuesday closing

Closed the banking sector on the Egyptian Exchange at the end of trading on tuesday 3 March 2026, with an decrease in the sector’s market capitalization by 2.06%, reaching EGP 756.54 billion at the close of today’s session, compared to EGP 772.46 billion at the close of last monday’s session.
The banking sector’s market capitalization represented 24.63% of the total market capitalization today, which is the highest percentage among all sectors listed on the exchange.
The trading value of banking sector shares amounted to EGP 1.36 billion, representing 20.90% of the total trading value on the exchange today. A total of 14.37 million shares were traded in the sector, accounting for 1.11% of the total trading volume of the exchange today.
The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed today’s trading session with the main benchmark index “EGX30” edging down, while both the “EGX70” and “EGX100” indices increased, amid net foreign purchases amounting to EGP 258.8 million.
The main index “EGX30” decreased by 2.03% to 46.725 points, and “EGX70” increased by 0.20% to 11.971 points, and “EGX100” rose by 0.17% to 16.940 points.
