Egypt’s banking sector performance on EGX at Tuesday closing

The banking sector ends EGX trading session on Tuesday 16 December 2025 with a decrease in the market cap by 0.79% to record EGP 671.13 bn compared to EGP 676.46 bn at Yesterday's session.

The market cap of the banking sector reached 23.52% of the total EGX market cap, which is considered the highest percentage among the sectors listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange.

The turnover on banking sector shares amounted to 406.87 Mn which represents 6.56% of the total trading volume today after 7.75 million shares were exchanged capturing 0.21% of the total trading volume.

The Egyptian Exchange closed today’s trading session with a decline in the “EGX30” and “EGX100” indices, while the “EGX70” index increased, amid a selling trend by foreign investors with a net value of EGP 130.2 million.

The main index of the Egyptian Exchange, EGX30, fell by 0.72% to close at 42,510 points, while the EGX70 index for mid-cap stocks rose by 0.29% to reach 13,057 points, and the broader EGX100 index decreased by 0.11%, recording 17,297 points.
