Egypt’s banking sector performance on EGX at Tuesday's closing

The banking sector ends EGX trading session on Tuesday 21 October 2025 with a decrease in the market cap by 1.01% to record EGP 581.76 bn compared to EGP 587.70 bn at Yesterday's session.
The market cap of the banking sector reached 21.99% of the total EGX market cap, which is considered the highest percentage among the sectors listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange.
The turnover on banking sector shares amounted to 278.37 Mn which represents 4.68% of the total trading volume today after 6.42 million shares were exchanged capturing 0.36% of the total trading volume.
The Egyptian Exchange closed Tuesday’s trading session with a decline in the main index EGX30, while both the EGX70 and EGX100 indices ended higher, amid net foreign buying worth EGP 258.8 million.
The EGX30 main index fell by 0.73% to close at 38,089 points, whereas the EGX70 index, which tracks medium-sized stocks, rose by 0.69% to 11,980 points. Meanwhile, the broader EGX100 EWI index increased by 0.36%, closing at 15,728 points.
