EGBANK, Credit Agricole and CIB top fastest-growing listed banks in mortgage loans during Q1-2025

First Bank list of banks listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange with the fastest growth in mortgage loans during the first quarter of 2025 revealed that the Egyptian Gulf Bank «EGBANK» topped the list, with a growth rate of 8.5%, as its portfolio rose to EGP 559.63 mn by the end of March 2025, compared to EGP 516 mn by the end of 2024.

The list, which included 10 banks listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange, showed that 8 of them achieved positive growth rates in their total mortgage loan portfolios during the first quarter of 2025, while only two banks recorded a noticeable decline. It is worth noting that «Suez Canal Bank» and « Faisal Islamic Bank» were excluded from the list due to failure to disclose the value of their mortgage loan portfolio.

Referring to the list, Credit Agricole Bank came in second place with a growth rate of 8.3% during the first quarter of this year, as its portfolio of mortgage loans rose to EGP 1.60 bn at the end of March 2025, compared to EGP 1.48 bn at the end of 2024.

Commercial International Bank «CIB» ranked third, as its mortgage loan portfolio increased by about 8.1% during the first 3 months of this year, reaching EGP 6.24 bn by the end of March 2025, compared to EGP 5.77 bn by the end of 2024.

QNB ranked fourth with a growth rate of 7.5% during the first quarter of 2025, as its portfolio of mortgage loans jumped to EGP 9.03 bn at the end of March 2025, compared to EGP 8.40 bn at the end of 2024.

Egyptian Export Development Bank «Ebank» came in fifth place, thanks to an increase in its mortgage loan portfolio by about 4.9% in the first 3 months of this year, reaching EGP 1.21 bn by the end of March 2025, compared to EGP 1.16 bn by the end of 2024

It is worth noting that all values and growth rates mentioned in the above analysis are according to the independent financial statements announced for each bank at the end of March 2025
