Egypt’s banking sector performance on EGX at Wednesday's closing session

The banking sector ends EGX trading session on Wednesday, 28 May 2025 with an increase in the market cap by 0.22% to record EGP 480.899 bn compared to EGP  479.833 bn at yesterday's session.

The market cap of the banking sector reached 21.46% of the total EGX market cap, which is considered the highest percentage among the sectors listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange.

The turnover on banking sector shares amounted to 202.815 mn which represents  4.10% of the total trading volume today after 4.946 million shares were exchanged capturing  0.37% of the total trading volume.

The indexes of the Egyptian Exchange ended Today’s trading session with increase and turnover amounted EGP  258.8 mn on shares.

The main index of the Egyptian Stock Exchange “EGX30” increase by 0.30% to reach 32.638 points EGX70 decrease by 0.46% to record 9.558 points, and the broader index “EGX100” fell by   0.37% to record  13.027 points.
