ADIB, Bank NXT and ADCB top Fastest-growing private sector banks in syndicated loans last 3 years

First Bank list of the fastest growing private sector banks operating in the Egyptian banking sector in syndicated loans in the last 3 years revealed that Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank – Egypt «ADIB» topped the list, as its syndicated financing portfolio increased by about 477.6%, reaching EGP 1.46 billion by the end of 2024, compared to EGP 253.37 million by the end of 2021.

The «First Bank» list monitored the total direct loans to corporates with 16 private banks operating in the Egyptian banking system for which financial data were available for the last 3 years (specifically from the end of 2021, until the end of 2024), and showed that 14 of them achieved positive growth rates, while the record of only two banks declined significantly.

It is worth noting that Bank ABC and FABMISR achieved growth rates of 312.9% and 307.8% in the last 3 years as a result of the acquisitions that took place and were excluded from the classification for the accuracy of the comparison.

Returning to the list, Bank NXT seized second place, as its portfolio of syndicated loans increased by about 275.7% in the last 3 years, reaching EGP 5.78 billion by the end of 2024, compared to EGP 1.54 billion by the end of 2021.

Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank – Egypt ranked third with a growth rate of 261.6% over 3 years, thanks to an increase in the volume of its joint loans to EGP 6.40 billion at the end of 2024, compared to EGP 1.77 billion at the end of 2021.

Al Baraka Bank won fourth place, after its joint financing increased by about 140.3% in the last 3 years, reaching EGP 7.38 billion by the end of 2024, compared to EGP 3.07 billion by the end of 2021.

Al Ahli Bank of Kuwait – Egypt «ABK – Egypt» came fifth, as its portfolio of syndicated loans jumped by about 133.19% over 3 years, reaching EGP 3.347 billion at the end of 2024, compared to EGP 1.435 billion at the end of 2021.

saib came in sixth place, after the volume of its syndicated loans increased by about 124% in the last 3 years, recording EGP 21.03 billion by the end of 2024, compared to EGP 9.39 billion by the end of 2021.

Arab African International Bank took seventh place, thanks to an increase in its portfolio of syndicated loans by about 123.5% over 3 years, reaching EGP 63.49 billion at the end of 2024, compared to EGP 28.41 billion by the end of 2021.

Qatar National Bank «QNB» Egypt dominated eighth place, as the volume of its syndicated loans increased by about 117.8% in the last 3 years, reaching EGP 34.78 billion by the end of 2024, compared to EGP 15.97 billion by the end of 2021.

Kuwait Finance House Bank – Egypt ranked ninth, thanks to an increase in its portfolio of syndicated financing by about 112.6% over 3 years, recording EGP 10.85 billion at the end of 2024, compared to EGP 5.10 billion at the end of 2021.

As for tenth place, it went to Suez Canal Bank, where its portfolio of syndicated loans jumped by about 102.2% in the last 3 years, reaching EGP 16.66 billion by the end of 2024, compared to EGP 8.24 billion by the end of 2021.
