SC Bank, FABMISR and EGBANK top fastest-growing banks in assets during Q1-2025

First Bank list of the fastest growing banks in assets during the first quarter of 2025 revealed that Suez Canal Bank topped the list with a growth rate of 12.8%, after its portfolio rose to EGP 203.20 bn by the end of March 2025, compared to EGP 180.19 bn by the end of 2024.
The «First Bank» list monitored the size of the asset portfolios of 24 banks operating in the Egyptian banking sector, for which financial data was available during the period under analysis, and revealed that 22 banks achieved positive growth rates in the size of their assets, while only two banks achieved a noticeable decline during the first quarter of 2025.
Returning to the list, First Abu Dhabi Bank «FABMISR» snatched second place, as its portfolio of assets increased by about 11.9% during the first 3 months of this year, reaching 461.91 billion pounds by the end of March 2025, compared to 412.71 billion pounds by the end of 2024.
The Egyptian Gulf Bank «EGBANK» dominated third place, as its portfolio of assets jumped by about 11.3% during the first quarter of this year, reaching 153.03 billion pounds at the end of March 2025, compared to 137.49 billion pounds at the end of 2024.
Al Ahli Bank of Kuwait – Egypt «ABK-Egypt» took fourth place with a growth rate of 10.2% during the first quarter of this year, bringing the volume of its assets to 156.03 billion pounds at the end of March 2025, compared to 141.60 billion pounds at the end of 2024.
The Bank of Alexandria came in fifth place, as the total volume of its assets increased by about 9.8% during the first 3 months of this year, recording 235.67 billion pounds at the end of March 2025, compared to 214.57 billion pounds at the end of 2024.
Emirates NBD Bank - Egypt came in sixth place, as its portfolio of assets increased by about 9.4% during the first quarter of this year, recording 173.80 billion pounds at the end of March 2025, compared to 158.93 billion pounds at the end of 2024.
Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank-Egypt «ADIB-Egypt» won seventh place, after its asset portfolio increased at a growth rate of 9% during the first quarter of this year, reaching 282.09 billion pounds by the end of March 2025, compared to 258.84 billion pounds by the end of 2024.
Arab International Banking Company Bank «saib» took ninth place, as its portfolio of assets jumped by about 8.104% during the first quarter of this year, reaching 162.15 billion pounds by the end of March 2025, compared to 150 billion pounds by the end of 2024.
As for tenth place, it went to Kuwait Finance House Bank-Egypt, after the volume of its assets increased by about 7.9% during the first quarter of this year, reaching 155.10 billion pounds at the end of March 2025, compared to 143.79 billion pounds by the end of 2024.
It is worth noting that all values and growth rates mentioned in the above analysis are in accordance with the independent financial statements announced for each bank at the end of March 2025
